2025 is now behind us on the calendar – which makes it the perfect time to look back at KAPELOU’s annual results in warehouse automation equipment manufacturing.

Even as time moves forward, our approach remains the same: automate warehouse logistics so operations become faster and easier to manage, while work stays safe, clear, and comfortable for people. That means warehouse teams with different levels of experience and physical capabilities can contribute effectively – without sacrificing quality or productivity.

How warehouse automation evolved this year?

As a reliable automation partner, we closely track how logistics market expectations evolve, enabling us to continuously adapt our portfolio of automated systems to new storage and order fulfillment scenarios.

Every KAPELOU project is a direct response to real customer pain points. Labor shortages, SKU growth, slow item search in storage areas, picking and packing errors, limited warehouse space, and a high share of manual operations were among the most common challenges we helped businesses solve in 2025.
Throughout 2025, we strengthened our position in European markets. Overall, we delivered warehouse automation projects in Germany, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Hungary, Greece, Lithuania, Romania, Saudi Arabia, and the USA.

Each warehouse logistics project was unique – implemented to match local business requirements, existing infrastructure constraints, and the specifics of each customer’s material flow. At the core of KAPELOU solutions for improving receiving, replenishment, storage, picking, and shipping are modern automation technologies that enable the Goods-to-Person concept – where the system automatically delivers goods to the operator:

  • Shuttle systems for continuous, automated product movement in multi-level storage zones, reducing access time and accelerating picking;
  • Miniload stacker cranes for fast and accurate storage and retrieval of small loads in totes and trays, enabling high-density storage, maximizing vertical space, and reducing human-factor impact;
  • GNOM AS/RS, designed to move, store, and pick up to 4 totes at once;
  • A-Frame systems for buffering and automated order fulfillment, enabling high-throughput picking of small-item goods;
  • Monoflex systems for efficient pallet transport using rail-based movement, supporting fast handling of high volumes.

Why warehouse automation matters for logistics companies?

In today’s logistics environment, speed, accuracy, and stability define competitiveness. Warehouse automation helps logistics companies achieve measurable improvements across daily operations:

  • higher throughput without expanding headcount;
  • fewer picking errors and stronger service quality;
  • faster order fulfillment and shorter lead times;
  • predictable performance during peak loads;
  • better use of space and higher storage density;
  • improved workplace safety and lower physical workload;
  • scalability for growth – SKUs, volumes, new flows;
  • more transparency and control through data.

How automated picking improves warehouse efficiency?

Last year, we automated the small-item storage area in our own warehouse by implementing a Miniload stacker crane. Our facility stores and processes nearly 6,000 small components, many of which look very similar. With manual picking, that meant errors – and time lost searching for the right items.

Automation results:

  • fast access to required SKUs;
  • 100% picking accuracy;
  • increased storage capacity;
  • less dependency on “tribal knowledge” of the assortment;
  • reduced human-factor impact during order assembly;
  • staffing needs reduced to just 1 operator for picking, freeing up resources for other processes.

KAPELOU warehousing concepts: engineering design built around your business requirements

Over the year, KAPELOU’s Concept & Analytics Department developed 349 conceptual solutions for warehouses with different product flows and operational scenarios. Each warehousing concept serves as the engineering foundation for a long-term automation strategy. During development, we define warehouse logic and calculate key parameters such as:

  • material flows: receiving – storage – picking – shipping;
  • required throughput;
  • warehousing technologies aligned with specific business goals;
  • space constraints.

Market dialogue: showcasing practical warehousing solutions in the professional community

In 2025, we presented our solutions and technologies at key industry events where market trends are shaped and real-world applications of modern warehousing equipment are discussed: LogiMAT, Saudi Smart Logistics, All-Ukrainian Logistician Day, and Yaskawa Logistics Day.

For us, warehousing exhibitions are more than a showcase – they’re a live dialogue with partners and customers, and a way to understand how automation of warehouse operations is evolving across Europe and beyond. It’s also a chance to demonstrate that KAPELOU solutions reflect real market expectations and support both today’s operational needs and tomorrow’s business growth scenarios. KAPELOU’s proven automation experience helps noticeably improve daily operations.

What companies achieved with warehouse automation?

  • reduced physical workload through material movement automation;
  • minimized errors through automation of identification and picking;
  • ensured stable 24/7 performance, especially during peak periods;
  • shifted staff from routine warehousing tasks to higher value-added work.
