Task

The network of shopping centers «Epicentr K» has been operating on the Ukrainian market for more than 17 years. Today, the group of companies includes 65 shopping centers, 51 sports stores – INTERSPORT, 10 hypermarkets – «Novaya Liniya», also logistics facilities, agricultural holding, and production companies.

Another shopping center of the network with an area of ​​23.3 thousand m2 was opened in Zaporizhia. KAPELOU has developed a comprehensive solution of automation for the third pick-up center based in the city. This pick-up center will bring local consumers closer to the more than 1.5 million product range from different categories, such as: tableware, household chemicals, furniture, automotive products, garden accessories and plants, sports goods, stationery, and more.

The main task of the project facing KAPELOU was to ensure more efficient operation of the center at its intensity – 14/7 and:

  • automate the movement of collected online purchases from the storage area to the delivery area;
  • organize the lifting of goods for storage;
  • simplify the work of staff;
  • speed up the work of the warehouse.

Solution

The main trend of e-commerce is the fastest collection and delivery of an order and it’s becoming more important every year. And «Epicentr K» began to implement this trend in their shopping centers. 

In order to ensure the speed of processing, picking and issuing orders, equipment was manufactured in KAPELOU’s® own production and installed:

Thanks to an effective solution for automating the online order pick-up center, each employee is only in the assigned area and all orders are moved using conveyor equipment from the storage location to the pick-up point. This significantly reduces the time the client waits for his order, speeds up the issuance process and simplifies the work, as it eliminates the need for manual movement of goods.
