CloseAutomation of an Online Order Pick-up Centre for Epicentr K
Epicentr K is a leader in Ukraine’s non-food retail market. Epicentr K group unites a network of 73 Epicentr shopping centres, a network of sports stores, online store epicentrk.ua, and other sectors. The shopping centres of the network annually welcome over 63 mln visitors.
Over 1 mln products are available on the online store website. 50 % of all purchases are typically picked up by the customers at Online Order Pick-up Centres. One of the largest and most visited Epicentr K shopping centres with the total area of 37,220 m2 is located on Bratyslavska Street in Kyiv. The main tasks of the project included:
- speeding up warehouse operations;
- providing lifting and lowering of loads from the first floor of the store for pick-up and buffer storage.
Kapelou developed a solution for automation of the Online Order Pick-up Centre, and designed and manufactured conveyor equipment: live rollers and a vertical conveyor. The company provided installation, start-up of the system and integration with the warehouse WMS.
Automation results by numbers:
- throughput of up to 600 containers/hour;
- transportation of loads weighing up to 35 kg;
- lifting and lowering speed of 3 m/s.
With the solution by KAPELOU, the order pick-up rate has increased 3 times, efficiency has improved, and work has become easier for the employees, since all loads in the warehouse now move automatically.
