    Different types of belt conveyor

Belt conveyors are assembled from prefabricated modules like a construction kit, which reduces installation and assembly time in your warehouse:

Profiles made of high quality galvanised steel from European steel manufacturers provide increased structural strength. Adjustable feet with a height adjustment range of 100 mm ensure precise height adjustment and compensate unevenness of the floor.

An example of the belt transporter exploitation at the largest courier service in Hungary

    Tilt Belt Conveyor for Warehouse

In June 2022, we realized a project of belt transporters implementation for the largest courier company in Hungary. The company is a part of the Austrian Post and delivers more than 60,000 parcels every day. The project was carried out in close cooperation with our strategic partner BÖWE Austria.

The goal was to automate several areas of the 8,500 square meter warehouse and to solve the problem of handling large and non-standard parcels.

The installation of our belt equipment has increased productivity. Belt transporters and a platform with cantilevered profiles move large parcels, including non-standard sizes (maximum size 1200x600x500 mm), weighing up to 50 kg.

A 40-meter-long conveyor line of our own manufacture has increased productivity to 1000 parcels per hour. Such automation ensures unhindered movement of forklifts and leaves free space for workers.

The project to integrate the conveyor equipment of our own manufacture helped the customer solve the main task – to quickly sort standard, oversized and non-standard parcels and increase the throughput. For which warehouses is a belt transporter most efficient?

Curved Belt Conveyor for Warehouse from the manufacturer

High performance and adaptability make it a strategic decision to buy belt conveyor for modernizing intralogistics workflows in the UK and worldwide. It can be installed at any stage of product handling, including loading/shipping, production, sorting, and order picking. The conveyor’s ability to move goods of any size and weight between different areas, even at an angle, makes it indispensable for increasing efficiency in manufacturing, the automotive industry, e-commerce, courier services and DIY.

Made of high quality materials resistant to moisture, dirt and low temperatures, the conveyor can be used in pharmaceutical distribution and food industries where industrial sanitation and hygiene requirements are strictly enforced. It is adapted to the gentle movement of pieces and packaged goods in warehouse or factory containers. The modularity of the equipment allows it to be adapted to different product handling conditions, depending on the needs of each individual warehouse.

The belt conveyor can be operated more efficiently in combination with the following types of equipment:

    1. The weighing module is integrated into the conveyor equipment and compares the weight of the load with the reference value at the picking stage and, in case of a mismatch, redirects the goods to a separate area for manual inspection.
    2. Machine vision and WMS help the conveyor direct products to the correct area after automatic load identification with the ability to read information from the packaging on three sides.
    3. Other types of conveyors and various types of in-house manufactured lifts in combination with the belt conveyor significantly increase the warehouse’s throughput capacity by fully automating the movement of goods at various levels and optimizing logistics processes.

    FAQ

    01. What key parameters should be considered when choosing a belt conveyor?

Selecting the optimal conveyor solution is grounded in a thorough analysis of cargo characteristics -specifically dimensions, weight, and handling requirements. Concurrently, core operational parameters are defined, including required throughput, line length, route topology, motion dynamics, and operating conditions. Equally critical is factoring in technological scenarios such as buffering needs, directional traffic shifts, and seamless integration with auxiliary equipment and WMS/WCS. This holistic engineering approach ensures high performance, operational resilience, and maximized warehouse space efficiency.

    02. What is the economic benefit of using belt conveyors compared to manual handling?

Automating material flow reduces reliance on manual labor, eliminates handling errors, and sustains consistently high throughput regardless of seasonal volume surges or workforce shortages. Furthermore, the equipment optimizes order processing times, maximizes available floor space utilization, and reduces overall warehouse logistics expenses. Consequently, facility management achieves a predictable OPEX structure and the capacity to scale operations without increasing headcount.

    03. What is the minimum and maximum load capacity of a belt conveyor?

Standard KAPELOU equipment is engineered to handle material flow with a load capacity of up to 50 kg per linear meter. This capability covers most operational tasks across warehouses and manufacturing sites handling totes, plastic crates, carton boxes, and other unit loads. To guarantee continuous and safe line performance, it is vital to factor in both total cargo weight and its even distribution along the entire length of the conveyor belt.

    04. How is a belt conveyor integrated with existing warehouse equipment and software?

The conveyor operates both as a standalone unit and as a core component of a scalable warehouse automation ecosystem. Depending on operational requirements, it integrates seamlessly with roller lines, sorting systems, elevators, packaging stations, and AS/RS. Transport processes are governed by programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with direct connectivity to WMS, WCS, or ERP systems. This integration enables automated route optimization, end-to-end real-time cargo tracking, and an uninterrupted load flow with zero manual intervention.

    05. How frequently should a belt conveyor be serviced, and what impacts belt lifespan?

Operation requires systematic preventive maintenance, with service schedules tailored to daily workloads, cargo characteristics, and operating conditions. Standard maintenance routines include periodic technical inspections, belt tension and tracking monitoring, as well as drive unit and support component diagnostics. Conveyor belt service life directly depends on material weight and abrasiveness, traffic intensity, dust levels, and precise initial line setup. Adherence to operational guidelines and scheduled maintenance ensures maximum equipment longevity and operational durability.
