KAPELOU EU was an exhibitor at Expopharm 2022

UnitHub is a space-saving automated pick-up station based on a 3D volume measurement system and dynamic shelving for automated dispensing and receiving of parcels around the clock. The UnitHub microfulfillment solution is ideal for pharmaceutical companies as it can be equipped with an integrated climate control system for the storage of medicines. The equipment can also be used in other industries:

• E-commerce;
• shipping centres;
• automotive industry;
• retail;
• production and storage facilities;
• postal and courier services.

The solution has many advantages for both the end user and the company installing the system. The end consumer needs fast receipt of the parcel, a clear user interface and round-the-clock service. Moreover, with UnitHub, the customer can not only receive parcels, but also send them.

The advantages for the companies are the scalability of the system, dual control through video recording of parcel receipt and removal, fully automated parcel delivery and the use of dynamic cells for maximum utilisation.

A-Frame is a picking system that guarantees high picking performance. A-Frame picks products from vertical channels into totes, crates and cartons. Due to the modular design of the system, the number of vertical channels can be increased. Thanks to this solution, it is possible to achieve a picking performance of up to 3,000 units per hour and an output speed of up to 5 products per second.

The A-Frame offer a variety of picking solutions: Pick-to-Belt, Pick-to-Tote, Pick-to-Bucket and Pick-to-Carton, which can be used at any stage of the picking process.

SmartPharmaLocker is a thermal storage box for medicines. The system is a storage place for orders that are collected in the dispatch warehouse and delivered to the pharmacy regardless of the pharmacy’s business hours. The solution improves pharmacy efficiency, provides round-the-clock service and reduces the need for staff.

Machine vision as part of artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is an effective element for automating routine processes and is therefore often used in the pharmaceutical industry. For example, for counting the number of tablets put into each vial, checking each tablet for shape, size and integrity, checking packaging for integrity, labels with product information and barcodes – all this can be implemented in the pharmaceutical industry thanks to artificial intelligence. The machine vision solutions we are presenting at Expopharm offer:

• Dynamic scanning, reading barcodes from different heights;
• the ability to read even damaged barcodes;
• checking the integrity of the packaging;
• checking the presence of labels and markings;
• text recognition;
• high-precision 2D and 3D measurements.

Under the motto “Shaping pharmacy together”, the main concern of the trade fair was formulated. Thus, leading suppliers, wholesalers, pharmacy operators, international experts, responsible persons from all areas of the pharmaceutical market, medical professionals and specialist representatives from pharmaceutical companies gathered at Expopharm and set the course for the future of the industry.

After the event had to be cancelled twice due to the COVID 19 pandemic, more than 23,000 visitors came to the Munich fairgrounds this year. So despite the pandemic, this year’s fair had almost as many visitors as the last Munich fair.

Visitors to the fair were able to see products and innovations from 500 key players in the European pharmaceutical market and learn about all the latest topics at 200 presentations from 100 top speakers. These included e-prescription, pharmaceutical services, politics and economics, digital customer care, pharmacy management, digitalisation and sustainability.

The next Expopharm will take place in Düsseldorf from 27 to 30 September 2023.
